Jeff Wilson heads the Mechanical/Electromechanical group at JWTH and assists worldwide corporate and university clients in patent prosecution, opinion work, due diligence, strategic counseling and trademark matters. With extensive experience in domestic and foreign patent prosecution, Jeff prepares and prosecutes patent applications in areas such as aerospace technologies, computer-implemented and complex machinery and processing equipment, medical devices and methods, imaging technologies, semiconductor and nanotechnology technologies, LED technologies, and MEMS and related technologies.
Jeff has 30 years of experience in practicing before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and foreign patent offices, including representing clients in prosecution matters, appeal matters, and various proceedings and litigation at the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), federal district courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) where he has been on Brief.
Jeff is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is member of the bars of North Carolina, South Carolina, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC). Jeff has a J.D. degree from Campbell University School of Law and a degree in Biology with Physics concentration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Jeff is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI), the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), the Licensing Executives Society (LES), the North Carolina Bar Association (former Intellectual Property Law Section Council Member), and the Carolina Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law Association (member since 1990; President 1998-1999).
