Ben Aitken earned his B.S.E. degree from Duke University in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science, magna cum laude; and his J.D. degree from Duke University School of Law. Prior to attending law school he worked as a mechanical engineer, with experience in structural load analyses, testing of machine component operability, finite element analyses and preparation of calculations to support other engineering analyses. Mr. Aitken is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Aitken provides experience with respect to patent preparation and prosecution before both the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and foreign patent offices. His experience further includes patent litigation experience and experience in the preparation and prosecution of trademark and copyright applications. He is a member of the American Bar Association; the American Intellectual Property Law Association; the North Carolina Bar Association; and the Carolina Patent Trademark and Copyright Law Association.
