RTP, NC. – Jenkins, Wilson, Taylor & Hunt, P.A. is pleased to announce that Shandon W. Herring and Leon L. Legleiter are now shareholders in the firm.
Mr. Herring joined Jenkins, Wilson, Taylor & Hunt as an associate in 2008 in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science area of the firm. He earned his B.S. in Computer Science at North Carolina State University, and his J.D. degree at Campbell University. Mr. Herring is admitted to the Bar of North Carolina, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
Mr. Herring’s technical background includes experience in the development of Java-based freeware and shareware, as well as database development with JDBC, SQL and Oracle Connectivity. He currently prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the electrical engineering, telecommunications, computer networking, computer storage systems and computer software technology areas.
Leon R. Legleiter
Dr. Legleiter joined Jenkins, Wilson, Taylor & Hunt as a Technical Specialist in 2007 in the Life Sciences area of the firm. Prior to joining the firm he earned his B.S. degree in Animal Science, cum laude, at the University of Missouri, his M.S. in Animal Science at the University of Missouri, and his Ph.D. in Nutrition at North Carolina State University. While working for the firm as a patent agent he earned his J.D., summa cum laude, in the evening law program at North Carolina Central University. He is admitted to the State Bar of North Carolina and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Dr. Legleiter specializes in patent and trademark law, and enjoys counseling a wide range of clients from start-ups to universities and global corporations. He has over a decade of experience in patent preparation and patent prosecution in the life sciences and mechanical technologies, including such areas as medical biotechnology, agricultural biotechnology, biochemistry, immunology, and pharmaceuticals, as well as medical devices, imaging technologies, analytical equipment and methodologies, and nanotechnology applications.
