Jeffrey L. Wilson
Jeffrey Wilson graduated in 1987 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in biology with a physics concentration, and he obtained his J.D. degree from Campbell University School of Law in 1990. He is admitted to the bars of North Carolina and South Carolina, registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, and admitted to the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) and various federal district courts. He has also achieved the AV Preeminent Rating – the Highest Possible Rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Wilson has extensive experience in intellectual property matters including patent and trademark preparation, prosecution and opinion work relating to both the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and to foreign patent and trademark offices. He has 28 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution matters and in opinion work in areas such as aerospace technologies, medical apparatuses and methods, x-ray imaging technologies, semiconductor and nanotechnology applications, LED technologies, MEMS and related technologies, complex machinery and processing equipment, and in software and internet data applications. Mr. Wilson also has vast experience in intellectual property due diligence and strategic alliance counseling as well as in patent and trademark litigation before the federal courts, where he has been on brief in litigation before the CAFC.
Mr. Wilson is an active member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI), the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), the Licensing Executives Society (LES), the North Carolina Bar Association (former Intellectual Property Law Section Council Member), and the Carolina Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law Association (member since 1990; President 1998-1999).
